Arsenal gave up their pursuit of the Premier League title Saturday, giving up a lead at Everton to draw 1-1 in the English Premier League Saturday afternoon.

Leandro Trossard gave Arsenal a well earned first half lead but the Gunners conceded a soft penalty right at the beginning of the second half to allow the home side back in the game through Illiman Ndiaye and from there never felt like scoring to effectively hand the Reds the title.

The Gunners, already 12 points behind their title rivals at kick-off, knew nothing short of a win was required at Goodison Park to get any opportunity of catching up to Liverpool but a tame performance in the end was what they could produce to leave their title ambitions in tatters.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was unhappy with how Everton got their equaliser, terming the penalty awarded against Myles Lewis Skelly as unfair.

"We conceded a penalty that in my opinion was not a penalty, very clear," he said in his post-match press conference when speaking to Premier League TV.

Arsenal now have 62 points and trail Liverpool by 11 with seven matches left for the Gunners.

Liverpool travel to Fulham on Sunday, seeking to stretch their lead to 14 points.

Regardless of any result they might face, they have a magnificent lead and can dare to dream of being champions this season.

"We have to win our games. That is all we can do. Then we wait," Liverpool boss Arne Slot said in is pre match presser.

No side has ever come back from a double-digit lead to win the Premier League with less than ten matches left to play.
