Kericho Governor Erick Mutai will remain in office after the Senate voted down his impeachment, citing failure to meet the required 32 MCA threshold.
The motion was rejected by 26 senators against 16.
The motion was moved by Kakamega Senator Bony Khalwale (Senate Majority Whip), who questioned whether the required number of MCAs had voted in favour of the impeachment.
