KNCCI president Erick Rutto appointed to global chamber council

In a statement issued Tuesday, July 1, KNCCI described Rutto's appointment as a significant recognition of Kenya’s and Africa’s growing influence in global trade.
Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) President Dr. Erick Rutto has been appointed to the General Council of the World Chambers Federation (WCF) for a three-year term spanning 2025 to 2028.
In a statement issued Tuesday, July 1, KNCCI described Rutto's appointment as a significant recognition of Kenya’s and Africa’s growing influence in global trade.
He joins a select group of business leaders representing key regions across the world, including Africa, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East.
“This is a proud moment for KNCCI and a recognition of Africa’s growing influence in shaping global trade and investment,” Rutto said. “I look forward to working with fellow council members to champion the African voice and promote the benefits of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).”
His appointment follows Kenya’s successful hosting of the first-ever WCF Congress in Africa earlier this year, a landmark event that reinforced the continent’s rising role in global commerce.
WCF Chairperson Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu welcomed Rutto’s inclusion, noting that this year’s council reflects the strength and diversity of the global chamber community.
The WCF, an arm of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), brings together chambers of commerce worldwide to advocate for inclusive and sustainable trade policies
