Doctors and civil servants have announced plans to hold a protest next Tuesday, March 18.

They've expressed dissatisfaction with what they see as inconsistencies and omissions in the Social Health Authority (SHA) framework.

The demonstration will be organized under the leadership of officials from their respective unions including the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) and the Union of Kenya Civil Servants (UKCS).

KMPDU Secretary General Dr. Davji Atellah and UKCS Secretary General Tom Odege have formally informed the police of their intention to demonstrate.

In a joint letter addressed to the Inspector General of Police, the organizers outlined their plan for a peaceful protest scheduled for Tuesday, March 18, 2025, starting at 8:00 AM.

The demonstration will begin at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), move to the SHA buildings, proceed to the Ministry of Health, then the Ministry of Public Service, and finally end at the National Treasury.

The duo stated that the protest is meant to highlight their frustration over the government's delay in implementing the Public Officers Medical Fund under SHA.
