In Summary

She is not just covering thousands of kilometers but also collecting stories.

Ebaide Udoh, a Nigerian adventurer, is undertaking a bold and historic journey: crossing every African country on a motorcycle.

According to OkayAfrica, her goal is to become the first Black African woman to complete this feat, while also breaking barriers and challenging stereotypes about what African women can achieve.

Starting from Ibadan, Nigeria, and riding toward Dakar, Senegal, she is not just covering thousands of kilometers but also collecting stories, connecting with people, and showing the continent through her lens—one border and one story at a time.

Her journey was born from hardship. Years ago, she survived a devastating car accident that left her with spinal injuries and temporarily confined her to a wheelchair.

That experience pushed her to live fully and chase her dreams while she could. In 2023, despite having just learned to ride a motorcycle, she set off on her cross-continental adventure.

The first leg took her from Mombasa, Kenya to Lagos, Nigeria, covering 9,000 kilometers and passing through nine countries.

The road hasn’t been easy. Ebaide has faced difficult terrain, struggled with visa delays, and even had a close encounter with a black mamba in Tanzania.

Yet, her determination has not wavered.

In each country, she has been met with unexpected kindness—from locals offering help to fellow bikers welcoming her like family.

In Angola, she was so well-received that she calls it one of the most heartwarming experiences of the trip.

Now in Dakar, she has completed over 24,000 kilometers through 20 countries.

As she prepares for the next leg of her ride—eventually looping back through South Africa to Kenya—her eyes remain set on her final destination and a Guinness World Record.

But more than recognition, Ebaide is riding to inspire African women to dream bigger, travel further, and live boldly.

She shares her stories on Instagram at @go_ebaide, inviting others to see the Africa she is discovering: resilient, vibrant, and full of life.

Her journey is not just about geography, it’s about courage, purpose, and rewriting the narrative of what is possible.
