The new staff will be engaged on permanent and pensionable terms.

Teachers across the country have an opportunity to secure permanent positions as the Teachers Service Commission rolls out a fresh recruitment drive to fill vacancies left by natural attrition.

A total of 2,014 slots have been advertised and will be filled before the end of May.

The commission is looking to recruit 1,309 teachers for primary schools, 32 for junior schools, and 673 for secondary schools.

According to a notice in the latest edition of MyGov, the new staff will be engaged on permanent and pensionable terms.

"The teachers recruited will serve on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service," read the statement.

The commission specified that only Kenyan citizens who are registered teachers will be considered for the available positions.

Applicants for primary school jobs must hold a P1 certificate, while those applying for junior or secondary school vacancies must have a diploma or higher in education, with at least a C+ in KCSE and the same minimum grade in two teaching subjects.

Applications must be made online through either the TSC website (www.tsc.go.ke) or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke by midnight on Monday, 19th May 2025.

No physical or manual submissions will be accepted.

TSC highlighted that repeated submissions will not be tolerated. “Filling out two or more Application for Employment Forms will lead to disqualification,” the Commission cautioned.

Applicants who have never been employed by TSC will receive priority during the recruitment process.

The Commission also reaffirmed its commitment to diversity by encouraging persons with disabilities to apply.

In its notice, TSC also urged job seekers to be wary of scammers who may try to take advantage of the hiring process.

"The recruitment exercise is free of charge. The Teachers Service Commission forewarns applicants against fraudsters who might extort money from unsuspecting persons purporting to assist in recruitment," the notice stated.

"Any suspicious activity should be reported to TSC or the police. Contact details for reporting include the Director Staffing at 0202892193, Deputy Director Staffing at 0202892131, or via email at [email protected]," TSC said.

Full details of the advertised positions, including school and county breakdowns, are available on the Commission’s official website.

TSC has called on interested teachers to apply promptly and follow the outlined procedures to avoid disqualification.
