Salah & Van Dijk to sign new Liverpool contract

Salah has scored 243 goals in 394 games for Liverpool and is considered already one of the best players to ever feature for the 19 time English Premier League champions.
Mohamed Salah will sign a new contract at Liverpool FC and extend his stay at the Merseyside club, according to reports in the British Press.
Salah has scored 243 goals in 394 games for Liverpool and is considered already one of the best players to ever feature for the 19 time English Premier League champions.
Talks between all parties are ongoing and a final agreement is yet to be reached, but sources have indicated the club have made positive progress in their efforts and are hopeful a deal will be done.
Salah's deal expires at the end of the season, and there has been some uncertainty over his future, with clubs in Saudi Arabia keen to land the Egypt international, but according to Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano, a deal is more or less done.
"Not only Mo Salah’s new deal imminent. Liverpool are also confident to get a new contract sorted soon for Virgil van Dijk, as expected," he said on X.
Salah has been a key player for Liverpool since his arrival in the summer of 2017 from AS Roma and has been central to the team's title charge this season, scoring 32 goals across all competitions.
Earlier this week, captain Virgil van Dijk - whose deal also expires in the summer provided a positive update on his own contract talks.
"There is progress, yes. These are internal discussions, and we'll see. I love the club, I love the fans, and they were there for us again," said the defender following the loss to Fulham in the English Premier League last week.
Liverpool are on course to win their 20th Premier League title this season.
They hold an 11-point lead over Arsenal with just seven matches left to play.
