Nairobi Hospital denounces fake letter on board changes

Dr Barcley Onyambu, Chairman of the Kenya Hospital Association, which manages the hospital, clarified that no board meeting was held on the date mentioned in the letter.
The Nairobi Hospital has firmly denied claims made in a letter circulating online that alleges there has been a change in its board leadership. The hospital has dismissed the document as false, calling it a deliberate attempt to mislead the public.
In an official statement, the hospital stated that no such leadership transition had taken place, and described the letter as fake.
Dr Barcley Onyambu, Chairman of the Kenya Hospital Association, which manages the hospital, clarified that no board meeting was held on the date mentioned in the letter.
“No board meeting took place on the date alleged in the letter, and therefore no changes to the Board leadership (Chairman and Vice-Chairman) occurred as alleged,” said Onyambu.
He also revealed that the document was created using a fake letterhead, which does not exist within the hospital’s official branding.
“Kenya Hospital Association trades as ‘The Nairobi Hospital’ and not ‘The Nairobi Hospital Convention Center’ and any communication bearing a letterhead titled ‘The Nairobi Hospital Convention Center’ is fraudulent and mischievous formulation aimed at misleading stakeholders and the public,” Onyambu stated.
The hospital urged the public and media to remain cautious and to confirm the authenticity of any statements or announcements through the hospital’s official communication channels.
It reminded stakeholders that any valid communication from the board must come directly from the company secretary.
“All official communication concerning board matters is solely notified through the office of the Company Secretary,” read the hospital’s statement.
Describing the letter as a “mischievous formulation,” the hospital warned that the intention behind it was to create confusion and spread misinformation. The Nairobi Hospital reiterated its commitment to openness and accountability, assuring the public that the correct procedures remain in place for any formal communication.
