Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka is now urging President William Ruto to continue donating to churches and ignore criticism over church donations.
Speaking during a church service in Eldoret on Sunday, March 9, 2025, where he was alongside the president, Lusaka lauded Ruto for his consistent support of religious organizations.
He reiterated his full support for the president in all his endeavours, emphasizing that donating to churches was not only appropriate but also aligned with biblical teachings.
"Your Excellency, I did not come here today out of idleness or because my county lacks churches. I passed by many, but I was divinely guided to this place. I am here to connect with both God’s network and the world’s. This principle is rooted in scripture," Lusaka declared.
He went on to reaffirm his commitment to supporting the president’s initiatives, recalling how he had contributed to a recent fundraiser despite being unable to attend in person.”
He also expressed appreciation for the president’s commitment to bringing the nation together, applauding Ruto’s recent initiatives to strengthen national unity.
He pointed out that key government initiatives were now becoming a reality, citing the prompt distribution of subsidized fertilizer as a testament to President Ruto’s commitment.
"Your Excellency, for those of us who have worked alongside you, the transformation in Kenya is evident. Even in Bungoma, we can see your promises being fulfilled. Fertilizer arrived on time, with deliveries starting as early as December," he stated.
The governor concluded by expressing his steadfast support for the president and his administration, vowing to champion government efforts aimed at fostering national unity and economic development.
