NPS receives body of officer who died while serving in Haiti

The body of Corporal Kennedy Mutuku Nzuve, who died in a road traffic accident while serving in Haiti, was received at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Friday evening.

The reception was led by the Commandant of the National Police College Embakasi ‘A’ Campus, Isaac Alimaa, SAIG, along with other senior police officials.

Corporal Nzuve’s family, including his mother Serah Nzuve, joined the police leadership to receive the officer. He lost his life on 1st September 2025 while serving with the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSSM) in Haiti.

In a statement, the National Police Service expressed its condolences, saying: “The National Police Service conveys its deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the fallen officer and assures them of its unwavering support during this period of profound sorrow.”

After the reception at JKIA, the officer’s body was transferred to Chiromo Mortuary for preservation, with burial plans to be announced at a later date.

Other senior officers present at the airport included the Commandant of the Rapid Deployment Unit, Aggrey Shamala, AIG; the Director of Medical Services for the Administration Police Service, Lilian Kanini, AIG; the Chief of Staff for the APS, Haron Nthiga, AIG; and the NPS Spokesperson, Muchiri Nyaga, AIG.
