Tusker FC coach Charles Okere has bemoaned the lack of goals in his side's league campaign this season.
The Brewers have scored just once in three matches during the 2025/26 Kenyan Premier League, a consolation goal in the 2-1 loss to Posta Rangers in match week two. Their latest league clash versus Mathare United on Wednesday ended scoreless.
The result leaves the Brewers languishing in the relegation places and according to Okere, he has the answer as to why the club is struggling badly.
"I'm happy with a point today because it is a start for the season against a very tactical side. We start from somewhere, he said. This season is all about believing in ourselves. We have to believe in ourselves. The players have followed instructions and followed our tactical arrangement. We just need to be clinical in front of goal and our story could be different today, he said following the clash at the Dandora Stadium.
Tusker are now 17th in the 18 team league and the reality is that Okere and his players are under pressure to perform as the season continues.
They take on Shabana in their next clash this weekend, and the coach is accepting of the fact that they are under pressure to deliver. Okere knows they will need all their resources to make headway.
"We need to compose ourselves. We have to be clinical in our coming matches and I believe we are heading in the right direction, he added.
Tusker face top ranked Shabana Sunday, as they look for a first win this season on Sunday 5 October 2025.
