Leicester's Daka named as Zambia name World Cup qualifying squad

Leicester City's striker Patson Daka has been named in Zambia's squads for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers which are due to take place next week.

Sekhukhune United goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata, who was in the starting line-up for Zambia’s last World Cup qualifier, has been dropped from the Zambia squad for this month’s last two Group E fixtures at Tanzania and home to Niger.

Nsabata was in goal when Zambia lost 2-0 at home to Morocco last month and has been replaced in the 26-man squad by Patrick Choma, who receives his first call-up.

Zambia, who can still finish second in the group, will face Tanzania away in Zanzibar on Wednesday, October 8, before hosting Niger in Ndola on Sunday, October 12.

Midfielder Clatous Chama has returned to the squad along with Killian Kanguluma, but Israeli-based winger Chipyoka Songa misses out.

Zambia will be using the games to also prepare for the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco in December.
