Natasha Nyonyozi launches bid for Miss World 2025 title in India

The competition, which kicked off this weekend in Hyderabad, India, has drawn contestants from 111 countries.
Uganda’s Natasha Nyonyozi has officially begun her journey to win the Miss World 2025 crown, representing her country at the 72nd edition of the prestigious global pageant.
The competition, which kicked off this weekend in Hyderabad, India, has drawn contestants from 111 countries, all gathering under the theme “Beauty with a Purpose.”
At the grand opening ceremony held at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Nyonyozi made a memorable impression with a costume inspired by Uganda’s national bird, the crested crane.
Her ensemble featured a corset-style top highlighted with vibrant shades of red, yellow, black, and orange, complemented by a flowing green train and an elegant feathered headdress — a symbolic tribute to Uganda’s natural beauty and heritage.
Nyonyozi follows in the footsteps of former Miss Uganda, Hannah Karema, who earned a spot among the top eight finalists at the Miss World 2024 competition and was a standout candidate for the Miss World Africa title.
With such a legacy behind her, Nyonyozi is determined to go even further.
Beyond the glitz and glamour, she is championing a heartfelt cause: autism awareness. Her “Beauty with a Purpose” project is inspired by her younger brother, who is on the autism spectrum.
As a business owner and an honors graduate in Science and Finance from Coventry University, Nyonyozi is using her platform to promote global understanding and acceptance of autism.
The Miss World 2025 pageant will proceed with a series of events and challenges, culminating in the highly anticipated grand finale.
As the competition unfolds, Uganda watches with pride, rallying behind Natasha Nyonyozi in her quest for the crown.
The event commenced with a grand opening ceremony on May 10, 2025, at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, featuring representatives from 110 countries.
The festival includes various cultural events and activities leading up to the grand finale, which is scheduled for May 31, 2025, at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad
