Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii has revealed that the ghost projects highlighted by the Senate Public Accounts Committee last weekend were actually initiated by his predecessor, Senator Jackson Mandago, during the final phase of his governorship.

Bii emphasized that Mandago should not be held responsible for the current issues.

Speaking in Kesses on Wednesday, Governor Bii explained that Mandago left behind projects worth millions of shillings as he handed over office, and now his administration faces the challenge of completing them.

Bii insisted he will not tolerate being unfairly blamed for these projects and called on Senator Mandago to stop meddling in his leadership.

He stated that some people have threatened he will lose the next election due to the unfinished projects.

At the same time, Bii responded to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s comments about the 2027 election.

The governor described the remarks as harmful to national unity and the ongoing efforts to sustain peace and cohesion in the country.

He pointed out that Uasin Gishu county suffered greatly during the 2007 post-election violence, making Gachagua’s reference to that period particularly insensitive, as the memories remain vivid for many residents.

Bii emphasized that the county is currently home to diverse communities living in harmony, and warned that such statements could disrupt the peace and cause division.
