The app combines the Case Tracking System (CTS) and E-Filing services into one platform with seven main tools.

Kenyans can now use a new mobile app to access a wide range of court services without having to visit court offices.

The Judiciary has launched the e-Judiciary app, which allows users to track cases, file claims, verify court documents, and join virtual court sessions directly from their phones.

The app combines the Case Tracking System (CTS) and E-Filing services into one platform with seven main tools.

These include checking case information, viewing cause lists and court links, handling probate matters, checking payment status, verifying court documents, filing cases, and using case mapping.

"This app allows real-time case tracking without visiting the court registry," the Judiciary said.

"It eliminates long queues, unnecessary calls, and the need to travel for simple court services."

Users can also track succession cases filed in any court station and access scheduled court hearings and virtual court links. This is expected to reduce congestion at court buildings and improve communication for litigants and advocates.

The app enables advocates and law firms to file cases in the Small Claims Court.

"It minimizes financial barriers and makes it easier for anyone to initiate and complete the filing process," the Judiciary noted.

Another important feature lets users verify court orders, rulings, and judgments.

"This builds public confidence and ensures that fake court documents are eliminated," the statement added.

Police and prison officers can use this to verify orders before releasing individuals.

The app also allows users to check payment status and download receipts, preventing the use of fake invoices. This helps judges, magistrates, and litigants avoid delays related to payment disputes.

With the case mapping feature, users can link new documents to existing files, making case tracking more organized.

The Judiciary thanked the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of the Netherlands for supporting the app’s development.

"This is part of our mission for social transformation through access to justice using technology," it said.

The e-Judiciary app is available on Google Play for Android and the App Store for Apple users.
