Form three girl found dead inside KBC compound in Yala

The 17-year-old girl’s body, discovered partially clothed, was noticed by students on their way to school, who quickly raised the alarm.
A Form Three student was on Tuesday morning found deceased within the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) compound in Nyamninia, Yala, Siaya County.
The 17-year-old girl’s body, discovered partially clothed, was noticed by students on their way to school, who quickly raised the alarm.
According to police reports, the girl left home around 5:30 a.m. to attend school but was later found in a bush about 300 meters from the compound.
It was reported that her undergarments were removed.
Authorities in the area suspect that the girl may have been sexually assaulted before her death.
Confirming the incident, Gem Yala Sub-County Police Commander Charles Wafula stated that officers from Yala Police Station responded to the scene and transferred the body to the Yala Sub-County hospital mortuary.
He added that investigations into the case are ongoing, and a postmortem examination is currently being carried out.
This incident follows a similar case in Mindhine village, where an 18-year-old Form Four student was found sexually assaulted and killed while on her way to school.
