JSC unveils 150 new job openings

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has opened applications for 150 positions in a wide-ranging recruitment effort designed to boost the capacity of Kenya’s judiciary.
In a statement shared on the Commission’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, June 9, 2025, JSC outlined the vacancies as part of a broader strategy to enhance court operations and improve access to justice nationwide.
“We are hiring!” the Judicial Service Commission announced in a post shared on its official X account.
The Commission invited applications for a range of judicial roles spanning Judges, Magistrates, Kadhis, and others as part of a broad recruitment push aimed at reinforcing judicial services nationwide.
The advertised roles span multiple levels of Kenya’s judicial hierarchy, including: Judge, Court of Appeal (15 vacancies), Judge, High Court (20 vacancies), Judge, Environment and Land Court (10 vacancies) and Resident Magistrate (60 vacancies)
JSC also announced five vacancies for Resident Kadhi and forty for Resident Magistrate/Adjudicator, Small Claims Court.
Qualified applicants are encouraged to submit their applications via the JSC’s official recruitment portal: recruitment.jsc.go.ke.
The application window closes on June 30, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. East African Time.
The latest round of job openings, announced Monday, forms part of a wider initiative to tackle case backlogs and enhance the efficiency and accessibility of justice across the country.
The vacancies span a range of legal specializations and regions, underscoring the Commission’s commitment to decentralizing judicial services.
This includes recruiting adjudicators for the Small Claims Court and Kadhis to handle matters relating to Muslim personal law.
