The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) has donated food worth Sh4.65 million to 19 organizations across the Coast region to assist vulnerable Muslim families during the holy month of Ramadhan.

The donation included essential food items such as rice, flour, sugar, and cooking oil to help families celebrate Eid with dignity.

The Authority's Managing Director, Capt. William K. Ruto emphasized KPA’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and community support.

Beneficiaries included key Islamic organizations such as the Supreme Council of Muslims (SUPKEM), the Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya, and the Kenya Muslim Women Alliance, as well as religious institutions, boarding schools, and local community groups.

Capt. Ruto highlighted that this effort reflects KPA’s values of unity, generosity, and positive social impact beyond port operations.

He further assured that Lamu Port would receive a similar donation the following day.

SUPKEM Chairman Hassan Ole Naado expressed appreciation for KPA’s support, stressing the importance of compassion and charity during Ramadhan.

He encouraged communities to continue helping widows, orphans, and persons with disabilities.

Capt. Ruto also extended best wishes to the Muslim community, urging continued acts of kindness and service to those in need.
