The emotional outburst unfolded as the court was receiving submissions from the DCI, following a directive issued on Monday requiring Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome and DCI Director Mohamed Amin to produce the missing blogger in court.

Tension filled a Milimani courtroom on Tuesday morning after a man interrupted live proceedings to accuse a lawyer representing the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) of misleading the court over the disappearance of blogger Ndiang’ui Kinyagia.

The emotional outburst unfolded as the court was receiving submissions from the DCI, following a directive issued on Monday requiring Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome and DCI Director Mohamed Amin to produce the missing blogger in court.

The man, whose identity has not been confirmed, suddenly stood up during the session and began to voice strong accusations against the DCI, accusing them of abduction and extrajudicial actions.

“We will not come here to listen to your stories. You have abducted someone. His family is crying, and you are here telling us stories,” he said.

His statements quickly grew louder and more intense as he continued to direct his anger at the DCI lawyer.

“Enough is enough. Extrajudicial killings and disappearances must end now. We must stop this madness,” he said.

Court officials attempted to restore calm, but the man refused to stop, maintaining that the police were responsible for Kinyagia’s disappearance.

“Enough with the lies. You must stop the abductions. You must stop extrajudicial killings,” he shouted, while pointing directly at the lawyer.

The DCI lawyer, who was addressing the court at the time, had just stated that the agency had no involvement in the blogger’s disappearance. But the man remained defiant, continuing to challenge the official explanation.

“We must stop these evil things you are doing to us. It is not right to abduct someone and not present them to court. And you are here telling us stories about,” he said.

“This is not right. Why should they abduct someone and instead of producing them to court, they come here to start telling us stories about, I don't know, my client, my client did this,” he continued.

The court session came to a brief standstill before security and court staff managed to resore order. But the interruption left a strong impression, as the man concluded his protest with a final statement directed at the legal team.

“Your client what? Then what are we supposed to do? If the people who are supposed to protect us have turned out to be the greatest threat to our security,” he said.

The whereabouts of blogger Ndiang’ui Kinyagia remain unknown. The court is expected to issue further directions on the matter later today.
