To complete the collection, motorists are required to present their national identification card along with the old logbook.

Motorists across the country have been asked by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to collect their processed logbooks from the centres where they initially applied, as thousands remain unclaimed at NTSA offices.

In a notice issued on Friday, August 1, 2025, NTSA said many logbooks are ready for collection but continue to pile up in their offices nationwide. The Authority emphasised that there are no charges involved in collecting the documents.

“The collection process is free of charge. Present the previous logbook and your identification card at the collection point,” read part of the notice.

To complete the collection, motorists are required to present their national identification card along with the old logbook.

NTSA also encouraged car owners to use its self-service portal to check whether their documents are ready, where they can also access other vehicle records such as registration and ownership.

“Thousands of logbooks remain uncollected across NTSA offices. We request motor vehicle owners to collect their logbooks from the centres identified during the application process,” the statement added.

The appeal comes as the Authority intensifies efforts to improve road safety and ensure vehicle compliance across the country.

In a separate notice issued a day earlier, on Thursday, July 31, 2025, NTSA reminded all drivers to ensure their vehicles meet the legal standards before being used on public roads. These include up-to-date registration, valid insurance, and a valid driving licence.

Public Service Vehicles have additional requirements, including a valid Road Service Licence, PSV badges, and official uniforms for drivers and conductors as laid out in the PSV Regulations of 2024.

The Authority also directed that all PSVs and commercial vehicles be fitted with working speed limiters that transmit data directly to NTSA systems.

This national campaign comes in response to the increasing number of road accidents and growing disregard for road rules by both pedestrians and drivers.

NTSA believes that ensuring all vehicles are in good condition and documentation is current will help reduce road incidents. Motorists are therefore encouraged to verify their logbook status online and collect them without delay.
