President William Ruto has called for a meeting with Kiambu county leaders to review the implementation of the development charter signed ahead of the 2022 general elections.

Speaking to congregations in Kiambu on Sunday, the President assured residents that the commitments made to them are either completed or actively underway.

“I have the report card here. Everything we agreed on has either been delivered or is in progress. For those yet to be done, they will be completed,” Ruto stated.

He explained the importance of the upcoming review meeting, saying it will help identify any gaps in delivery. “This will show the work you entrusted to me, how far I have gone, and where there are shortcomings, I will correct them,” he added.

Ruto said that Kiambu has been a major beneficiary under his administration, noting that the national government has invested sh 40 billion in road infrastructure alone within the county.

“In the last two years under the Kenya Kwanza government, I have directed more funds to Kiambu’s infrastructure than any other county,” he said.

The President reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive development across Kenya, assuring that no region will be left behind. He described the country’s economy as stable and pledged to complete all stalled projects nationwide, including those in Kiambu.

Among the key projects Ruto committed to completing before the 2027 general elections are the Mau Summit-Malaba Road, a dual carriageway to Naivasha, and a six-lane highway to Nakuru.

On healthcare, Ruto ordered that all level 1 to 3 hospitals, including sub-county facilities, must offer free outpatient treatment.

The government will cover these costs through the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) program. He also warned Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi against charging patients for outpatient services, despite government funding.

In a gesture of goodwill, the President donated Ksh 5 million towards completing the PCEA Joshua Matenjwa Memorial Church.
