The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has instructed its members in specific regions to verify their membership as the party prepares for the upcoming by-elections announced by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

In a statement released on Tuesday, ODM listed constituencies and wards where members must confirm their details to participate in the voting process.

The constituencies include Baringo, Banissa, Kasipul, Magarini, Malava, Mbeere North, and Ugunja, while the affected wards are Angata Nanyokie, Chemundu/Kapng’etuny, Chewani, Fafi, Kariobangi North, Kisa East, Metkei, Mumbuni North, Kabuchai/Chwele, Narok Town, Purko, Tembelio, Nyansiongo, Nyamaiya, Ekerenyo, Lake Zone, and Nanaam.

ODM explained that the verification process is already underway and urged members in the listed areas to confirm their details and membership status in readiness for the by-elections.

Members can verify their status by dialing 483036# or visiting the party’s official membership website.

The party also noted that its membership registration portal has been temporarily disabled until the by-elections conclude, meaning no new members will be registered during this period.

ODM further emphasized that there will be no changes allowed to registration centres during the exercise, a move aimed at ensuring a smooth and transparent process.

“Members in those areas are further informed that the membership registration portal has been disabled hence no new registration until after the completion of the by-elections,” the ODM statement read.

The party reiterated its commitment to transparency and accountability in managing its membership, especially ahead of key by-elections. Political analysts note that several parties are expected to conduct their primaries before November 27, when IEBC will hold the by-elections to fill long-vacant seats in the affected constituencies.
