Ruto government focused on development, says CS Ruku

Ruku said the Kenya Kwanza administration is focused on rolling out tangible projects across the country to improve the lives of ordinary citizens.
Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Human Capital Development, and Special Programs, Geoffrey Ruku, has reiterated the government’s commitment to delivering on its promises, saying President William Ruto will not be swayed by political distractions.
Speaking during a Development Day event at Gatunga Boys Secondary School in Tharaka Nithi County, CS Ruku said the Kenya Kwanza administration is focused on rolling out tangible projects across the country to improve the lives of ordinary citizens.
“The President is too focused on driving development to waste time responding to busybodies and empty rhetoric,” Ruku stated. “Our mission is to fulfill the promises made to Kenyans, not to be sidetracked by non-constructive criticism.”
Among the flagship projects highlighted by the CS was the long-awaited Ciakariga–Irundini road, a key infrastructure link that has been on hold for years.
He confirmed that the road’s construction is now on schedule, noting that the government is determined to complete not only this but also other stalled projects in Tharaka Nithi and beyond.
Ruku further announced that President Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, alongside Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki, are expected to tour the Mt. Kenya East region in the coming weeks.
The visit will focus on commissioning new projects as well as reviving those that had stalled due to funding and policy gaps.
“This government is committed to ensuring that no region is left behind.
The people of Tharaka Nithi can expect more investments and improved infrastructure under President Ruto’s leadership,” he said, drawing applause from the gathering.
The CS praised residents for their continued support, assuring them that they would see direct benefits from government initiatives in areas such as infrastructure, education, and public services.
He added that the administration has mobilized both the resources and political goodwill needed to deliver transformative projects that will impact livelihoods.
Ruku’s remarks come at a time when the government is under pressure to demonstrate progress on its ambitious development agenda, with critics questioning the pace of implementation amid a tough economic climate.
By focusing on infrastructure and service delivery, the CS said, the Kenya Kwanza government hopes to reassure Kenyans that its leadership remains anchored on action rather than political rhetoric.
“We are here to work for the people and to ensure every promise made is translated into reality,” he concluded.
