Kenyans face heat, cold nights, and scattered rains this week

The forecast indicates intense heat in the Coast, North-eastern, and North-western areas, where daytime temperatures will exceed 30°C. Mandera is set to be the hottest region at 37°C, followed by Lodwar at 36°C and Garissa at 35°C.
Kenyans should expect a mix of high daytime temperatures, chilly nights, and scattered rainfall across the country in the week spanning September 9–15.
The Meteorological Department has forecast continued rains in parts of the Highlands on both sides of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and certain areas of the Rift Valley, with afternoon showers and thunderstorms predicted in several regions.

Conversely, the coldest nights will be felt in Nyahururu at 7°C, while Nyeri and Narok will dip to 9°C and 10°C respectively.
Strong southerly to south-easterly winds, reaching more than 25 knots, are expected along the Coast, South-eastern Lowlands, and northern parts of the country. Western Kenya and the Rift Valley are forecast to have sunny mornings, followed by showers in the afternoon and evening.
In Nairobi and other parts of the Central Highlands, residents can expect overcast mornings with light rainfall giving way to sunshine and occasional showers later in the day.
North-eastern counties will largely remain sunny with only occasional morning rains, while the South-eastern Lowlands will see morning clouds that clear during the day. The Coast is expected to stay mostly sunny, though some areas may experience light morning and night showers.
Reviewing last week’s weather, Bungoma recorded the heaviest rainfall at 91.2mm, including 59.2mm in a single day on September 7.
Mandera registered the hottest day at 37.4°C, while Nyahururu experienced the coldest night at 7.2°C. Citizens are advised to take precautions and stay prepared for these changing weather conditions.
