The anniversary programme includes a Youth Summit designed to engage emerging leaders and map the party’s future direction, a Women’s Convention recognising the role of women in Kenya’s democratic struggles, and a youth concert celebrating creativity within the Orange Movement.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) will next month celebrate its 20th anniversary with a series of major events in Mombasa, marking two decades of political struggle, achievement, and service to Kenyans.

The celebrations, set for October 10–12, 2025, will bring together party leaders, members, and supporters in the coastal city, chosen for its historical importance in Kenya’s democratic journey.

ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna said the anniversary is more than a celebration of the party’s age.

“This will be a moment of reflection on the struggles, victories, and lessons that have shaped the party’s vision of a just, united, and prosperous Kenya,” he said, underlining the party’s ongoing commitment to democracy and people’s rights.

Sports fans will enjoy a football tournament featuring AFC Leopards, Gor Mahia, Bandari FC, and Shabana FC, an event intended to unite communities through sport.

Ahead of the main celebrations, ODM has scheduled activities across the country, with Migori and Wajir highlighted as key stops to demonstrate the party’s connection with grassroots supporters and its inclusivity.

“ODM has stood at the forefront of defending constitutionalism and people’s rights for two decades. This anniversary is a testament to the resilience of our members and the trust Kenyans have placed in us,” Sifuna said.

He also encouraged all party members, supporters, and Kenyans of goodwill to join the celebrations. “As a party that has stood at the forefront of defending constitutionalism and people’s rights, we take pride in inviting our members, supporters and all Kenyans,” he added.

Since its establishment in 2005, ODM has been one of Kenya’s most influential political parties, playing a central role in shaping the country’s democratic landscape.

The Mombasa anniversary celebrations are expected to attract thousands of participants and will be attended by Raila Odinga along with other senior party leaders, setting the stage for the party’s next chapter in national politics.
