Former Roots Party presidential running mate, Justina Wamae, has declared her intention to vie in the 2027 General Election, positioning herself as a candidate of reform, innovation, and generational change.
Her announcement signals a renewed push to inject fresh ideas into Kenya’s political arena, where veteran politicians have long dominated the stage.
Wamae declared that her agenda would be different, one rooted in building sustainable economic structures for the people.
"I’m on the side of Economic Democracy, Issue and solution-based politics, Ordering the disorder, Creating wealth for the nation of Kenya and her citizens, ndio inatuhusu kama WaKenya,” she said.

Wamae first came to national prominence during the 2022 General Election when she was nominated by Professor George Wajackoyah as his running mate on the Roots Party ticket.
Though their bid did not garner a significant share of the vote, Wamae earned recognition for her eloquence, bold articulation of policies, and ability to connect with younger voters.
In her recent statements on X, (formerly Twitter) Wamae explained that the decision to contest the upcoming election stems from her desire to “offer Kenyans an alternative leadership that is practical, people-centered, and untainted by entrenched political baggage,” and that she has done her due cost benefit critical analysis, and discovered that the two main political divide, have no ability and capacity to take Kenya forward.
She has been critical of both the ruling coalition and the opposition, accusing them of recycling the same ideas that fail to address the country’s pressing challenges.
