Police in Kiambu County have successfully rescued a Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officer from a gang of suspected robbers during an early morning operation in Kinoo on October 6, 2025.

According to a statement by the National Police Service, the rescue followed a swift response to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the early hours of October 6, 2025.

Upon approaching the vehicle, its occupants attempted to flee.

After a chase, two suspects were arrested and the KWS officer was rescued.

"A man who had been tied up and blindfolded in the vehicle’s boot was rescued and was later identified as a KWS officer travelling to Nairobi," reads the police report.

The officer reported that money had been taken from his mobile wallet and that the suspects had been robbing passengers along the route.

Police recovered several stolen mobile phones from the arrested suspects. Investigations are ongoing, with further operations underway to apprehend additional suspects who fled the scene.
