Four people died in an accident in the wee hours of Saturday, April 19, 2025, along the Northern Bypass near Membley Bridge in Ruiru, Kiambu County.

According to authorities from the Ruiru Traffic Base in Kiambu County, the crash occurred at around 3:42 a.m. and involved a Suzuki Wagon bearing registration number KDR 756K and a trailer with registration numbers KBU 265W/ZC2624.

Initial reports suggest that the trailer was heading from Kahawa West towards the Membley Roundabout when it was rear-ended by the Suzuki Wagon.

The force of the collision led to the immediate death of all four individuals inside the Suzuki.

The bodies were taken to Thika General Kago Mortuary for preservation and postmortem.

Authorities confirmed that the road was tarmacked and the weather conditions were calm at the time of the incident.

"The scene was documented according to procedure, and investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the collision," a police report seen by the Star stated.

Ruiru Sub-County Police Commander Charles Kibathi, who later inspected the wreckage of the Suzuki at the Ruiru Police Station, called on Kenyans to exercise caution on the roads during the Easter festivities.
