Moses Kuria eyes Jubilee Secretary-General post

Currently serving as a senior advisor in President William Ruto’s Council of Economic Advisors (CEA), Kuria suggested a potential political shift back to Jubilee a party he was once affiliated with during its earlier days.
Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has declared his interest in taking over as the Secretary-General of the Jubilee Party.
Currently serving as a senior advisor in President William Ruto’s Council of Economic Advisors (CEA), Kuria suggested a potential political shift back to Jubilee a party he was once affiliated with during its earlier days.
He made his intentions known on Sunday, June 15, 2025, through a post on X (formerly Twitter), where he shared a photo of former President and current Jubilee Party leader Uhuru Kenyatta, hinting at a return to the party’s leadership ranks.
This development follows closely on the heels of Moses Kuria’s public endorsement of former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s regained control of the Jubilee Party.
In a post on his official X account on Thursday, June 12, 2025, Kuria congratulated Uhuru, praising his leadership at a time of growing political division in the country.
He noted that under Uhuru’s stewardship, Jubilee is well-positioned to promote national cohesion and safeguard Kenya’s stability.
“Congratulations, my senior brother, President Uhuru Kenyatta, for winning back control of the Jubilee Party. At a time when there is a competition to burn Kenya through escalation, emotions and divisions, the Jubilee Party under your stewardship has a major role to play in keeping Kenya safe. The future is luminous,” Kuria wrote.
His remarks come as political forces begin realigning ahead of the 2027 General Election, with fierce jostling underway for control of the influential Mt Kenya vote bloc.
