Sosiot Level Four Hospital to improve healthcare services, says Governor Mutai

The Kericho County Government has earmarked Sh158 million for the construction of the Sosiot Level Four Hospital in Belgut Sub-County.
The major healthcare investment is aimed at improving healthcare services and strengthening the region’s medical infrastructure.
Speaking at the hospital’s groundbreaking ceremony in Sosiot, Governor Dr. Eric Mutai emphasized that the three-story modern facility will significantly enhance healthcare access for residents.
The hospital will house key departments, including Casualty, Outpatient Services, and specialized clinics for Ophthalmology, Dentistry, ENT, and Dermatology, ensuring a wide range of medical services.
Dr. Mutai also announced that the project will incorporate infrastructure improvements such as perimeter fencing, cabro paving, and a modern entrance gate to enhance security and accessibility.
“This facility will complement the ongoing Sh57 million Mother and Child Unit, a collaboration with the Safaricom Foundation, aimed at enhancing maternal and pediatric care,” he stated.
He further highlighted ongoing developments in other critical hospital sections, including a new theatre, radiology unit, a laboratory, and dedicated male and female wards, with plans to ensure adequate staffing.
The governor adds that the initiatives will reduce the pressure on Kericho County Referral Hospital while bringing essential healthcare services closer to the people of Sosiot and neighboring communities.
