Ryan Gravenberch named Premier League Young Player of the Season

Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has been crowned the 2024–25 Premier League Young Player of the Season, capping off an exceptional first full campaign at Anfield.

The Dutch international joined Liverpool from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023.

Under new head coach Arne Slot, Gravenberch transitioned into a more disciplined midfield role, often playing deeper than he had in previous seasons.

This tactical shift proved vital, as he became a central figure in the Reds’ title-winning squad.

Gravenberch started all 34 of Liverpool’s league matches before they clinched the Premier League title with four games to spare.

His composure on the ball, defensive discipline, and ability to link play between the lines stood out in a competitive campaign.

He contributed five goals and six assists, consistently turning in mature performances beyond his years.

The 22-year-old beat strong competition to the award, including Cole Palmer (Chelsea), William Saliba (Arsenal), João Pedro (Brighton), Anthony Elanga (Nottingham Forest), Liam Delap (Hull City), Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa), and Dean Huijsen (Roma).

His emergence this season has given Liverpool a fresh midfield identity, complementing senior players like Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister.

With his contract running until 2028, the club views Gravenberch as a cornerstone for its future.

This award marks a major personal milestone for the Dutchman, and a signal that Liverpool’s midfield rebuild is firmly on track.
