Liverpool agree to sign defender Kerkez from Bournemouth

The 21-year-old defender, who is Serbian by orientation but represents Hungary, is set to become Arne Slot's latest signing of the window.
Liverpool have agreed a deal in principle with Bournemouth to sign defender Milos Kerkez on a multi-year deal, according to reports coming out of the United Kingdom.
The 21-year-old defender, who is Serbian by orientation but represents Hungary, is set to become Arne Slot's latest signing of the window after already securing the signing of Jeremie Frimpong in a £29.5m deal from Bayer Leverkusen, while Florian Wirtz also closing in on a £116.5m move from the same club.
Kerkez has been one of Bournemouth's stand-out players, scoring two goals and adding five assists in 38 Premier League appearances last season, and Liverpool have been keen on him for some time, as the club seeks to refresh its defensive ranks ahead of the 20205-26 season.
He is being earmarked as the long-term heir to Andy Robertson, who has served as Liverpool’s first-choice left-back for the better part of a decade.
"Understand Liverpool plans for Hungarian left back to travel to Merseyside on Tuesday next week. The deal has been verbally agreed for weeks, never in doubt and now all documents are also approved," transfer expert Fabrizio Romano stated on X Friday.
In anticipation of Kerkez’s departure, Bournemouth have already made their move in the transfer market as the Cherries have announced the arrival of French left-back Adrien Truffert from Ligue 1 side Rennes.
Liverpool have already lost Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid and are also rumoured to be in interested in signing Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, with Darwin Nunez set for the exit door according to reports.
