CECAFA Cup: Kenya's Harambee Starlets face hosts Tanzania in title decider

Tanzania, who have a superior goal difference of +12 with Kenya in +11, need a draw to lift the trophy, while Kenya needs nothing less than a win to be crowned champions.
The national women's football team, Harambee Starlets, take on hosts Tanzania's Twiga Stars in a winner-takes-all match at the 2025 CECAFA Women’s Championships at the Azam complex.
The match has already kicked off.
Both teams remain undefeated with a 100% record after their first three matches, tied on 9 points.
Tanzania, who have a superior goal difference of +12 with Kenya in +11, need a draw to lift the trophy, while Kenya needs nothing less than a win to be crowned champions.
Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi and South Sudan were this year's competitors.
Bakari Shime, the Twiga Star head coach, told Cecafa Online that the final match against Kenya will be a good ground to test several aspects for his player.
“I know it will be a tough match, and we must be at our best,” said Shine.
Harambee Starlets Head Coach Beldine Odemba is also optimistic about her team's prospects.
"We can get the job done if they stick to the script. “This will be a very tough match, but we should not give them the spaces and still to our game plan,” Odemba offered.
Kenya beat Uganda 3-0, South Sudan and Burundi 4-0 respectively in their group matches to earn the right to face Tanzania for the championship winners medal.
