Gor Mahia head coach Zedekiah Zico Otieno and Captain Philemon Otieno are adamant that there is no underdog ahead of the much anticipated Mozzart Bet Cup Final against newbies Nairobi United.

Gor and United, who have been recently promoted to next season's edition of the Kenya Premier League, battle in the final of the country's biggest cup competition at the Ulinzi Stadium on Sunday from 3 pm Kenyan time.

The winner will earn the right to represent Kenya in the CAF Confederations Cup next season, making it a must-win cash for the two units.

Considering the history on both sides, Gor will be considered by many to be favourites ahead of kick off, but according to the two Otieno's, that is pure rubbish and no one can be underestimated at this point of the season.

"This is an important match for us, the captain said during the pre-match press conference in Nairobi. The fact that they are in the final means that this is a serious match and there is nothing like underdogs. We expect a tough match and anticipate a serious show from their fans. we must be prepared, he said.

On his part, Zico, who has featured in many wins and losses at Gor Mahia during his tenure as both coach and a player in the past, says that this will be a tough test considering the caliber of opposition that Nairobi United have faced in their run to the final.

Nairobi United saw off the challenges of FKF Premier League sides Tusker FC, KCB FC, Kakamega Homeboyz, and Mara Sugar FC to book their place in the final and Zico knows that they could be next in line if they do not perform astutely.

"It is going to be a tough final and we have to do everything on the pitch if we are to win, he said.

"There is nothing like underdogs. Have you seen the teams they beat on the way to the final? We will have to do everything in our power to win the match, he was adamant.
