Safaricom-Showmax Five-A-Side Tournament heads to Kitengela

Safaricom and Showmax Kenya are set to host the Second Edition of the Safaricom-Showmax Football Tournament at Goal-Hub Turf in Kitengela.

32 teams including KBC, Royal Media Team, Cape Media FC, Team bloggers and Media Max will be competing for the cash prizes.

The inaugural edition of the tournament held at Kahawa Wendani Turf saw Bard City FC emerge as champions.

"We are partnering with Showmax to bring the Football Challenge to our customers in the neighbourhoods," said George Wangari Matau, Strategic Marketing Amplification Lead at Safaricom PLC.

"Through these 5-a-side tournaments, we are not just playing football and awarding the winning teams but also engaging with our customers through activities that matter to them.”

The tournament will feature competitive matches, with the winning team taking home Sh30,000 and the runners-up receiving Sh20,000.

“The Safaricom-Showmax 5-a-Side tournament is designed to showcase local talents and make them shine as well. At Showmax Kenya, we are committed to growing football talent in Kenya and creating memorable experiences for football enthusiasts,” said Elisha Kamau, Showmax Public Relations Manager.

This partnership shows Safaricom and Showmax’s shared commitment to nurturing local talent and enhancing community engagement and experiences through sports.

"To qualify for the 5-a -side tournament, participants must subscribe to the Showmax EPL package at 450 per person. To subscribe, dial *544*37#," said the organizers.
