Tanzania's Singida Black Stars barged past a determined Al Hilal from Sudan 2-1 to clinch their maiden Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations CECAFA Kagame Cup crown, Monday evening, at a loud KMC Stadium in Dar Es Salaam.

Both sides were aiming to collect their first titles respectively, and what was expected to be a tight clash did not disappoint, with both teams fighting for supremacy from the onset Infront of an engaged crowd at the KMC stadium.

The former Yanga playmaker struck on 21 minutes to hand the home side the lead and was on the scoresheet once more on 58 minutes to hand his side a winning advantage. Abdelrazig Taha had equalised for Al Hilal on 21 minutes, to restore parity.

Kenya Police FC represented Kenya in this year's edition of the Kagame Cup, exiting in the group stages after failing to finish in the top two places in their group.

Police beat Djibouti's Garde-Cotes 4-0 in their opening fixture played on 2 September 2025. They then lost to eventual winners Singida 2-1 in their second match played 5 September. They finally saw off the challenge of Ethiopian Coffee 2-1 but it was not enough to get them through to the last four.

The winner collected a cash prize of US$30,000 and gold medals, while the runner-up takes silver and US$20,000, with Bronze earning US$10,000.

Going into the final hurdle Al Hilal SC ejected APR FC 3-1, while Singida Black Stars FC defeated KMC FC 2-0 at the semi final stage of the tournament which kicked off with 12 teams.
