Kenya Premier League club Bandari FC are parting ways with head coach Ken Odhiambo, following a poor start to the 2025/26 KPL season.

Odhiambo, also formerly a coach with KPL side Sofapaka, as confirmed by Bandari chairperson Tony Kibwana, has been relieved of his duties in an amicable manner following a poor start to the 2025/26 season.

Bandari lost 1-0 at home to Shabana last weekend and drew 0-0 with Kariobangi Sharks in their opening clash this season, leading to calls for Odhiambo's job to be reviewed after a disappointing 2024/25 season.

Speaking to Radio Generation Sport, Kibwana confirmed the coaching change, blaming the team’s disappointing results since Odhiambo took over as the reason for his dismissal.

“I can confirm that we have appointed former Harambee Stars striker John Baraza as our interim head coach with immediate effect. We thank coach Ken Odhiambo for his contribution to the team and wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” he said.

Kibwana also revealed that the club is now actively searching for an experienced coach, potentially a foreigner to coach the team.

“Whether a local or foreign coach, we want someone capable of leading a team of this caliber. Coach Ken tried his best, but unfortunately, it didn’t work out,” he added.

Bandari claimed an eighth-place finish in the 2024–2025 season, collecting 44 points from 10 wins, 14 draws, and 10 losses.
