In Summary

Kogalo coach Sinisa Mihic, who had been forced to serve a touchline ban, was involved in several off-the-field incidents that threatened to derail proceedings.

Gor Mahia's Kenya Premier League title charge suffered a blow as they conceded at the last minute to Sofapaka to draw 1-1 at a tense Dandora Stadium in Nairobi Saturday.

Joshua Onyango looked to have handed Gor the three points and a place at the top of the standings with his 68th-minute header, but Douglas Kibet silenced a packed Dandora Stadium with a smart finish one minute into injury time to earn Sofapaka a share of the points.

Gor had two goals ruled out for offside after striker Benson Omala was adjudged to have started on both occasions.

Kogalo coach Sinisa Mihic, who had been forced to serve a touchline ban, was involved in several off-the-field incidents that threatened to derail proceedings.

With the draw, Gor have accumulated 47 points from 26 matches.

They are two points behind leaders, Police FC, who have 49 from 27.

Tusker FC are second with 48 points, also from 26 matches played.

They take on relegation-threatened City Stars on Sunday with the opportunity to go top.

In Mombasa, Kakamega Homeboyz extended their recent run of positive results after downing a disappointing Bandari FC 1-0 at the Mbaraki Stadium.

Their top scorer Moses Shumah was the man on the mark for the visitors from Kakamega, his 73rd minute goal enough to earn his side three valuable points on the road.

The goal further saw the forward move joint top of the scorer's chart with 15 goals.

Homeboyz move to fifth with 41 points while Bandari are down in ninth with 36 and the loss will up the pressure on head coach Ken Odhiambo who has already been sounded out by fans for poor displays.

In South Nyanza, Mara Sugar FC came from a goal down to hold KCB to a one-all draw at the Awendo Green Stadium.

The visitors, struggling to maintain their place amongst the top teams, took the lead in the 25th minute through Patrick Otieno, but Mara, who are in grave danger of relegation, secured a point courtesy of Frederik Ng'iela's 65th-minute finish.

The league continues Sunday with several matches on the cards.
