In Summary

A win today is vital, according to Gor captain Philemon Otieno.

Gor Mahia will look to paint the true picture of the Kenya Premier League title race with a victory as they take on FC Talanta at Dandora Stadium this afternoon.

Kick off will be at 4 pm Kenyan time and will see the title chasing K'ogalo attempt to catch up with leaders Tusker FC who have four points more than they do with just a handful of matches left to play this season.

With 47 points from 26 played and leaders Tusker on 51, with second place Kenya Police on 49 both from 27 played, Gor know that a win against the struggling Talanta whose 26 points only allow them to be 16th of 18 teams, will be a massive one as they aim to retain their title.

The two sides have met seven times prior to today, in league assignments with Gor winning six and drawing once.

A win today is vital, according to Gor captain Philemon Otieno.

"This is a must-win game for us if you look at the league table and our position. We need three points and are confident. That said, we know Talanta are fighting to avoid relegation, so this match cannot be taken for granted," he said prior to the clash.

Gor coach Sinisa Mihic also understands the value of three points.

"We have had a good week. We have trained well together, and we are hoping for the best. Three points are important for us," he said.

Gor were recently held by Sofapaka at the same stadium after conceding a last minute goal and they will be well aware that any complacency will be punished.
