Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho has disclosed the outcomes of his recent meeting with Morten Bodskov, Denmark’s Minister of Industry, Business, and Financial Affairs.

On Saturday, May 17, 2025, Joho took to his official X account to share that Bodskov hosted him in Copenhagen.

During their discussions, they focused on topics of shared interest and cooperation between Kenya and Denmark.

Joho explained that their talks centered on strategic collaboration in the maritime sector, the critical role of green shipping, and potential investment opportunities.

"I had the honor of being hosted by the Danish Minister of Industry, Business, and Financial Affairs, Hon. Morten Bodskov, in Copenhagen. We explored areas of mutual interest between our countries, focusing on strategic cooperation in the maritime industry, the significance of green shipping, and the various commercial investment prospects," Joho said.

The CS praised Denmark’s impressive shipping industry, highlighting its fleet of more than 4,500 vessels, including national and international cargo ships, passenger liners, and fishing boats.

Joho also revealed that during the meeting, both parties pledged to enhance the existing partnership between the two countries, focusing on maritime education and training, sustainable shipping initiatives, and the development of port infrastructure.

Joho was joined at the meeting by Julius Segera, the Director of Maritime from the State Department of Shipping and Maritime Affairs.

Also present were Abdallah Hatimy, CEO of Kenya National Shipping Line, and Nathan Taama, the Charge d’Affaires in Stockholm.
