Two mutilated bodies dumped in Rongai amid surge in Nakuru killings

Locals remain in shock after the grim discovery of two male bodies on Sunday morning.
Suspicious deaths continue to make headlines across the country, with the latest case emerging from Soin Ward in Rongai, Nakuru County.
Locals remain in shock after the grim discovery of two male bodies on Sunday morning.
The victims, showing clear signs of brutal torture, were found dumped along a roadside near the Nakuru-Baringo county border.
Soin Ward MCA Degaulle Naburuki strongly condemned the incident, noting that the bodies appeared to be freshly dumped and the victims showed signs of having been tortured before being killed.
"The two individuals seem to have been killed during the night, with their bodies abandoned at the site," Naburuki explained.
"The location is a road leading to sisal farms, an area rarely frequented by people."
The manner in which the victims were killed has deeply shocked the community, especially since their identities are still unknown.
"Both men had their hands severed and their legs bound with ropes. This was clearly an execution—an act of torture. Such a brutal killing is uncommon and speaks of a painful death," Naburuki added.
He further noted that there were no signs of a struggle at the scene, suggesting the victims might have been killed elsewhere before their bodies were dumped there.
"We strongly condemn such acts. We will not allow our community to become a dumping ground for those killed in other places. There is no place for criminals in our area," Naburuki stated firmly.
He also mentioned that the local community has been unable to identify the victims.
"We are urging residents to stay vigilant. We call on security agencies to intensify efforts in tracking down criminals within our area and beyond who could be responsible for these senseless murders," he stated.
Rongai Sub-County Police Commander Cecilia Kemboi reported that local residents alerted authorities to the discovery, and officers from the DCI have since processed the scene.
"It was a gruesome sight, and based on our preliminary investigation, this seems to be a secondary location where the victims’ bodies were dumped after being killed elsewhere," Kemboi explained.
She added that the victims were adult males, approximately 30 years old, and have not yet been identified.
"The local community has been unable to identify the bodies, and there are no reports of missing persons from the area at this time. The bodies have been taken to the Nakuru County mortuary," Kemboi stated.
This incident occurs amid a surge in criminal activities across Nakuru County, with violent armed robberies on the rise.
So far, these crimes have resulted in at least four fatalities due to shootings.
