In Summary

In the revised line-up, Uhuru remains the Party Leader. Beatrice Gambo now takes over from Jimmy Angwenyi as Deputy Party Leader for Strategy, while Kados Muiruri replaces Kinoti Gatobu in charge of Operations.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta will continue to lead the Jubilee Party following sweeping leadership changes, after a High Court ruling upheld resolutions from the party’s National Delegates Convention (NDC) held in May 2023.

The Civil Division of the Milimani High Court approved a consent filed by the Jubilee legal team and key respondents, cancelling an earlier decision by the Internal Disputes Resolution Committee (IDRC) which had nullified the NDC outcomes.

The ruling gave the Registrar of Political Parties the green light to recognise the updated leadership list.

“In exercise of the power conferred by section 20(1)(c) of the Political Parties Act, the Registrar of Political Parties gives notice that Jubilee Party intends to make changes to the party officials,” read the notice dated June 30, 2025, and signed by Registrar Ann Nderitu.

In the revised line-up, Uhuru remains the Party Leader. Beatrice Gambo now takes over from Jimmy Angwenyi as Deputy Party Leader for Strategy, while Kados Muiruri replaces Kinoti Gatobu in charge of Operations.

Joseph Manje steps in as Deputy Party Leader for Outreach, replacing Naomi Shabaan.

The position of Deputy Party Leader (Programmes), previously held by Peter Mositet, remains unfilled. Saitoti Torome takes over from Nelson Dzuya as National Chairperson, while David Murathe retains his post as Deputy National Chairperson.

Jeremiah Kioni stays on as Secretary General, but the Deputy Secretary General role moves from Joshua Kutuny to Yassin Noor.

National Treasurer Kagwe Gichohi also remains, although the Deputy Treasurer position previously held by Ruweida Mohamed is now vacant.

Abdulkadir Haji continues as National Organizing Secretary, with Pauline Njoroge now serving as Deputy Organizing Secretary in place of Mutava Musyimi. Kanini Kega remains as National Director of Elections, and Rachael Nyamai has been appointed as his deputy.

The Women’s League, which had no listed leader before, will now be led by Maison Leshomo.

In the Youth League, Angel Mbuthia replaces Mulembe Mundalo as Chairperson. Wanja Maina continues to lead the Persons with Disabilities League.

The Council of Elders remains under the leadership of Njenga Mungai, while the Business Council, previously chaired by Joel Kibe, currently has no head.

Amina Udgoon Siyad replaces Adam Keynan as the party’s Parliamentary Secretary. The role of Executive Director, previously held by Wambui Gichuru, is vacant in the new structure.

Registrar Ann Nderitu has called on the public and stakeholders to submit any objections or written representations concerning the intended changes within seven days.

“A person with any representations concerning the intended changes by the Jubilee Party shall, within seven (7) days from the date of this publication, make their written submissions to the Registrar of Political Parties,” the notice reads.

In a separate development, the Wiper Democratic Movement has declared plans to change its name to Wiper Patriotic Front. According to Nderitu, the party’s move aligns with Section 20(1)(d) of the Political Parties Act.

The Registrar has also invited any written submissions on the proposed name change to be submitted within seven days from the date of publication.
