Two Kenyans have been recognized for their outstanding contributions to the scouting movement, receiving the prestigious Silver World Award.

Victor Radido, the Chief Commissioner of the Kenya Scouts Association, and Antony Gitonga were honored during the National Annual Meeting of Scouting America held in Orlando, Florida.

Their recognition places them among distinguished Kenyan leaders, including Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and Daniel arap Moi, who were similarly awarded in 1973 and 1981, respectively.

The Silver World Award, presented by Scouting America, celebrates individuals who have made remarkable contributions to youth development on a global level.

"This award is not just a personal honor but collective efforts of all Kenyan scouts, volunteers, staff, and supporters who have contributed to our mission," Radido told Citizen Digital.

The Silver World Award is presented to leaders who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to serving young people globally.

In a statement, the Kenya Scouts Association celebrated the recognition, describing it as a testament to the dedication, passion, and unwavering service that Radido and Gitonga have shown throughout their careers in scouting.

"We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey. Together, we continue to build a better world through scouting," the association said.
