Victory for Stellenbosch sees them set up a semi-final encounter against Tanzanian giants, Simba SC

Defending champions Zamalek SC were unceremoniously dumped out of the CAF Confederation Cup after a 1-0 home loss to South African newcomers Stellenbosch Wednesday night.

After holding the defending champions to a goalless draw in Cape Town last week, the tournament debutants had the mammoth task of travelling up north to face the Egyptian powerhouse in front of an intimidating crowd in Cairo, thanks to a late strike by midfielder, Sihle Nduli.

Victory for Stellenbosch sees them set up a semi-final encounter against Tanzanian giants, Simba SC, who overturned a 2-0 first leg defeat to Al Masry to advance 4-1 on penalties following their 2-0 victory in Dar Es Salaam.

In the second semifinal, Moroccan outfit RSC Berkane will take on Algeria's CS Constantine, who saw off the challenge of fellow league hopefuls USM Alger on penalties after the clash ended 2-2 and 4-3 on penalties on aggregate in the other quarterfinal.

Berkane beat Ivory Coast outfit Asec Mimosas 2-0 on aggregate in their quarterfinal tie.

The semis will be played on 20 and 27 April 2025.
