Coast leaders back CS Joho's 2032 presidential bid

Joho expressed his aspirations to become Kenya’s future president and encouraged the people of the coastal region to stand behind him in his political journey.
Leaders from the Coast region have thrown their support behind Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Fisheries, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs, Hassan Joho, as a presidential contender in the 2032 elections.
During a development tour in Rabai Sub-County, Kilifi County, the leaders expressed confidence in Joho’s ability to run a strong presidential campaign, citing both his political influence and financial capability.
The delegation included Rabai MP Kenga Mupe, Jomvu MP Badi Twalib, Kisauni MP Rashid Benzimba, Likoni MP Mishi Mboko, and Mombasa County Assembly Speaker Ahurub Khatri.
"In 2032, we will back Joho for the presidency, and we will do everything possible to ensure that he takes over from President William Ruto," said Mupe.
Rashid Benzimba echoed the remarks, stating that regions across the country were already laying strategies to secure power in 2032, and the Coast should do the same with Joho as their preferred candidate.
"Every region is aligning itself for the top seat, and we cannot afford to be sidelined. From now on, we must speak with one voice," he emphasized.
Mishi Mboko highlighted Joho’s role in nurturing young political talent within the Coast, saying he is well-positioned to guide the region toward national leadership.
"We appreciate Joho’s efforts in championing the political unity of the Coast. His commitment is evident, and that’s why we must all rally behind his leadership," she stated.
Badi Twalib emphasized that the era of blindly supporting leaders from outside the Coast was over, warning that those who resist the call for unity would be left behind.
"Joho has shown that he is not driven by tribal interests. He is bringing together leaders from our region to create a united political front," he remarked.
Ahurub Khatri called on parents to prioritize their children's education, stressing that the region must be known for producing future professionals and leaders.
"We've been belittled by other leaders who call us illiterate. I urge parents to send their children to school so that we can develop educated leaders for the future," Khatri said.
Meanwhile, Joho expressed his aspirations to become Kenya’s future president and encouraged the people of the coastal region to stand behind him in his political journey.
"President William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga have brought the country together, and they are preparing a level playing field so that people like me can run for presidency in the future," he said
