A promise by President William Ruto to reward Harambee Stars Sh1 million for every match won at the ongoing CHAN 2024 seems to have worked some great magic.

The national side battled to a 1-0 win over Morocco courtesy of a Ryan Ogam strike in their Group A clash at a raucous Kasarani Stadium on Sunday.

Stars held on for the victory despite going down 10 men in the first half after Chris Erambo was sent off.

Kenya’s decisive strike came in a tense contest, with the hosts standing strong to deny the two-time champions.

Harambee Stars' goalkeeper, Bryne Omondi, made several crucial saves to keep the scoreline intact.

The Kenyan team showed incredible determination, with Ogam scoring the decisive goal.

The result, following a 1–0 win over DR Congo and a 1–1 draw with Angola, puts Kenya at seven points from three games and leaves them within touching distance of a historic quarter-final on their tournament debut.

With the win, Stars have secured a spot in the quarterfinals and will look to build on this momentum as they take on Zambia in their final group match.
