Siaya woman killed in fatal stabbing

Police in Siaya County are investigating a bizarre murder of a woman in Ugunja town on Thursday.

The victim, identified as Linnet Adhiambo, is said to have died from stab wounds inflicted by unknown attackers.

According to Ugunja Sub-county Police Commander Benjolive Munuve, authorities were alerted about the incident around 1:00 a.m. and arrived at the scene to find the woman already dead.

The body was later taken to Ambira Sub-county Hospital mortuary pending postmortem procedures.

Munuve stated that two suspects had been taken into custody and were assisting police with the ongoing investigation.

Elsewhere, police in Ikanga Market, Mutomo Sub-County, Kitui County, are searching for a man who escaped after allegedly murdering his nine-month-old daughter on Wednesday night.

Ikanga Location Chief Onesmus Mutaula reports that the suspect had a domestic dispute with his wife before turning his anger on the infant.

He is said to have strangled the child before fatally slitting her throat with a kitchen knife before dumping the body into a pit latrine.

Police at Ikanga Police Station are pursuing the suspect.

Meanwhile, the child’s remains have been transferred to Mutomo Level Four Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination.
