The suspect, Collins Leitich from Asis Village in Ndugulu location, is said to have set up the patrol base at Cherus Centre in Kesses Sub-County without the approval or knowledge of the National Police Service (NPS).
Reports indicate that Leitich, took it upon himself to establish a patrol base painted in the Kenya Police colors inside a building, making it appear like a legitimate security post, the report said.
Local authorities uncovered the unauthorized base and began their investigation and are are still working to determine the suspect’s motive for establishing the unauthorized patrol base.
Meanwhile, police have reassured residents that they are taking the matter seriously and will take appropriate action as investigations continue.
