KQ names new Boeing 737 in honor of station manager Caroline Ndonga

Kenya Airways has unveiled the name of its newest Boeing 737, a tribute to the airline’s enduring strength, leadership, and legacy.
In a heartfelt announcement made on Thursday, May 1, the national carrier revealed that the aircraft would be named in honor of Caroline Ndonga, the Station Manager for Kenya Airways in Burundi.
Recognized as a stalwart in the aviation industry, Ndonga is being celebrated for her unwavering commitment to excellence and her pivotal role in shaping the airline’s operations.
Kenya Airways highlighted her significant contributions, noting that her name now graces the side of the latest B737 as a testament to her impact.
"Today, her name proudly adorns the newest B737, honoring a woman who keeps us grounded while helping us soar to greater heights. Some names truly deserve to fly," said a statement from Kenya Airways.
Caroline Ndonga, more than just the Station Manager in Burundi, is described as a symbol of resilience, safety, and strong leadership.
Her name now marks the fuselage of Kenya Airways’ latest aircraft, reflecting her crucial contributions to passenger safety and operational excellence.
In her role as Station Manager, Ndonga is responsible for overseeing all ground handling operations at the station.
She ensures the seamless service of passengers, cargo, and aircraft, managing flight operations and coordinating with various teams while maintaining rigorous safety and security standards.
She also plays an essential role in customer relations, addressing concerns, and responding to emergency situations when necessary.
With over 16 years of progressive experience at Kenya Airways, Caroline Ndonga has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and operational acumen.
She began her journey with the airline in March 2005 as a Flight Dispatcher, a role she held for nearly four years.
In May 2009, she transitioned to the position of Load Controller, overseeing flight weight and balance calculations and load planning for three years.
In April 2012, Ndonga’s exemplary performance led to her promotion as Supervisor of Operations in Kisumu, before she assumed her current position as Station Manager in Burundi.
Caroline holds a Bachelor of Science in Horticultural Science and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic Management, further reinforcing her diverse skill set.
This recognition serves as part of Kenya Airways' ongoing efforts to honor the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the airline’s continued success and excellence in the skies.
