The application window, which runs from July 14 to July 31, is open to all KCSE certificate holders who sat their exams between the year 2000 and 2024.

Young Kenyans looking to pursue technical education have another chance to enrol in government-sponsored courses, following the reopening of the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) application portal for the September 2025 intake into TVET institutions.

The application window, which runs from July 14 to July 31, is open to all KCSE certificate holders who sat their exams between the year 2000 and 2024.

KUCCPS is inviting qualified candidates to apply for placement into artisan, craft, and diploma programmes offered in public TVET institutions across the country.

In a statement, KUCCPS said the application process is part of efforts to boost access to skills-based education and support the government’s goal of achieving 100 percent transition from basic education to training institutions.

“This continuous placement aims to empower the youth with technical skills for employment or self-employment,” the notice read.

The minimum qualification requirements are grade E for artisan (Level 4), grade D for craft certificate (Level 5), and C– (minus) for Diploma (Level 6) courses. All applications must be submitted online through the KUCCPS Student’s Portal available at students.kuccps.net, where the full guidelines are also published.

In a move to make the process more accessible, KUCCPS announced that applicants will not be required to pay any application fees for this intake.

“The application fee has been fully waived to ensure more learners can access TVET opportunities,” KUCCPS stated.

For help with the online application process, KUCCPS advised applicants to visit the nearest public TVET institution or Huduma Centre. Additional support is available via telephone numbers 0205137400 or 0723954927, or by email through [email protected].

The placement service urged all eligible youths, especially those who completed school years ago but have not joined college, to seize the opportunity and apply for courses that can equip them with skills to earn a living.
